It’s a truly brutal combo that gives little to no counterplay. Any cav should get stuck on your infantry line and their lances won’t get kills since they’ll just hit shields.
Having your archers right behind them means attacking this block from behind means the archers murder any infantry that wraps around. This keeps them together and keeps the from being overwhelmed. Have your melee units(mounted and not) in one 3ish thick shield walled line.
They slowly advance with tons of infantry. They have running horses that are a pain, Mount the cav and have ‘em chase. Mix in menavilatons, palace guards, and line breakers, then have a large archer comp behind them of your choice. Grab druznik or cataphracts and have the fight on foot. If you want a really balanced comp that will leave you with good troops to pick from anywhere you are…. And nothing out does Schock infantry In melee those 2h weapons wreck hard. Heavy infantry mixed with Schock infantry are able to have insanely high kda’s as well. A high tier cavalry and infantry force will win against them. HOWEVER! While a comp of 80/90% fians will just win most fights for you heavy infantry are able to overwhelm them. They perform incredible in siege as well since their bows and arrow just kinda murder anything. What happens to my workshop/caravan if I am merc? Can I travel in enemy territory if county is at war? When I checked merc menu western empire was at war with nothern empire and vladia, that woul severely limit my travels/selling&buyingįians and khans guard are both the ultimate recruit murderers. I shaved my army into 20 man unit, kept higher level oathswons and fians and couple of skirmishers, ditched lower level units to keep pay low enough until I get workshop/caravan. Can I start taking castles/villages on my own or only participate when larger bsttanian army is attacking (they don’t attack, they weren’t even at war even tho they have lost castles and cities (maybe that war was over alresdy when I checked merc menu). I saw the “army size and who is at war with who” menu but that is it, I reloaded older save, wasn’t yet ready to get involved.Īs said I would like to help Battania and I assume they would pay well (smalles army). What can I do as merc to gain influence? I was invited once to be merc so I saw the menu, that I have no political power (influence is turned into money).
